Ed started working for the company in 1978 for the original owner, Milt Kerr and purchased the business in 1989. He and his wife Julie reside in Sandusky. They have 4 children; Jared, Drew, Corey & Troy and 8 grandchildren.
Corey, project manager, has been employed with S & H since January of 2010. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Kent State University in Business Management. Born and raised in Sandusky and currently resides here with his wife Clare and son Knox.
Jamy has been employed with S & H since October of 2004. She holds an Associate’s degree from Bowling Green State University in computer programming. She was born and raised in Sandusky where she currently resides with her husband Jeremy, and their three children Addison, Ashlyn and Easton.
Mike has been in the industry for over 30 years, starting with an apprenticeship in 1980, He had the pleasure of learning the skills of the trade from the original owner Milt Kerr. He graduated from St. Mary’s and currently resides in Sandusky with his wife Dana and 5 children; Aaron, Kelsey, Austin, Alex, and Ayden.
Tony has worked for S & H since 1994 has been professionally installing floors for over 30 years. He graduated from Perkins and now resides in Castalia with his wife, Sue. They have 2 children and 3 grandchildren.
Dan has worked for for S & H since 2007 and he has been working in the industry for 8 years as a professional installer. He also has over 25 years of custom cabinetry experience. He graduated from Perkins and currently resides in Monroeville. He has two children, Nicole and Zack.
Josh an employee for S&H has been working with the company since 2016, specializing in installation of carpet and other hard surface flooring products. He graduated from Margaretta High School and currently resides in Sandusky.
Milton Kerr founded Sandusky Home Interiors in 1947 with a commitment to providing the most affordable and quality flooring and window covering services in the area. Originally on Perkins Ave, the business moved after several years to Water St. in historical downtown Sandusky. Current owner Ed Opfer bought the company in 1988 after working for Sandusky Home Interiors since 1978. A few years after acquiring the business, Opfer moved the store to 2124 Cleveland Rd. There it has grown to suit the Sandusky area’s needs. With so many area businesses coming and going over the last half-century, Sandusky Home Interiors has built strong relationships with local residents due to its perseverance and reliable quality service.
We currently carry a wide range of window covering options and offer an array of repair services. Our showroom has over 100 blind displays and samples to assist you in your purchase. The displays include drapery soft treatments, custom wood shutters, motorized blinds, energy efficient coverings and many other options. We provide quality and trusted installation and repairs to fulfill any small or large need.
Also, we offer services in floor coverings for both residential and commercial needs. Hardwood, laminate, vinyl, carpet and ceramic tile are available in a wide variety of brands. In addition to all these different coverings, we provide environmentally friendly options for any budget, including cleaning supplies.

S & H Blinds and Floors is a Huron City and Erie County Chamber members.
The reasoning behind our name change is for it to coincide with the several changes within our company. We offer services beyond the Sandusky area. We also cater to commercial needs, not just residential. In the past we have offered products such as wallpaper, lighting, and furniture. We now focus our efforts on all window or floor coverings.
With our track record we have been able to enter several regional buying groups. By being in these associations we can offer low prices without sacrificing quality.
